Celebrating 144 years and beyond

Nearly 500 friends, former students, and supporters packed the Ballroom at Boston’s Seaport Hotel on April 19, 2017, for the fourth annual “Living the Dream” Dinner which supports the sisters and honored Jim and Mary Judge with the “Dear Neighbor” Award presented by Sister Rosemary Brennan, President of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

A special moment at the 2017 Living the Dream Dinner was the premier of "One Foot Forward,” a short video featuring the experience and ministries of three “retired” Sisters of St. Joseph. This video demonstrates how, here in Boston, the Sisters of St. Joseph continue to be inspired by the Mother St. John Fontbonne to put one foot forward, with one hand extended, ready to help their Dear Neighbor.

This short picture slideshow, shown at the 2016 Living the Dream Dinner, represents Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston as they changed throughout the years, yet their mission, "to work for unity and reconciliation where there is brokenness, to help people become whole and holy, individually and together," has remained the same.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston's mission is to connect neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God. Sisters Cathy Clifford, Mary O'Rourke, and Pat Andrews accomplish this through education, prayerful presence, and literacy & citizenship. This video is just a brief insight into how the sisters touch those around them.
