Casserly House has again been awarded a grant from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office (Dan Conley) Asset Forfeiture Reinvestment Program. Massachusetts law allows up to 10% of drug dealers’ cash and assets seized annually during the course of narcotics investigations to be used to benefit nonprofit community groups within the district attorney’s jurisdiction. The amount of money varies yearly and is shared by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police, and local law enforcement agencies.
This was the fifth consecutive annual grant Casserly House received from this highly competitive grant application. The award acknowledges the vital role Casserly House continues to play in the neighborhood. The funds will be utilized to sustain our preventative after-school and summer camp programs for at-risk neighborhood children.
