Mardi Gras 2017 — Sisters of Jesus Crucified Host Sisters of St. Joseph

The Sisters of Jesus Crucified and the Vietnamese sisters who live among them warmly welcomed us to another festive Mardi Gras celebration. As the pictures demonstrate, they supplied ample props to immerse all present in the spirit of the evening. After being greeted, we proceeded to chapel for prayer created by Terry Jardin, CSJ, and Alice Kirby, CSJ. The closing part of the prayer aptly captured the spirit of the evening: Tonight we celebrate the abundance of life: the delight of hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, touching, dancing, laughing. May the beads and treats, the music and song, the joy of being together, awake in us an appreciation of the gift of being alive today. And may these gifts expand our hearts and make room for more light, more love, and more hope to strengthen us for the spiritual journey ahead!
