On October 20, 2015 the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston and the Annual Fall Luncheon Committee hosted the 2015 Fall Luncheon to benefit The Literacy Connection and The Women's Table, ministries of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Sharon Reilly, Executive Director of Cradles to Crayons - Boston was honored with the CSJ Community Service Award. Dr. Robert A. Lue, Faculty Director for Harvard-Allston Education Portal was the guest speaker. Devlin's Bistro & Pub, Brighton, MA prepared and served a wonderful lunch.

On October 31, 2014, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh spoke to a crowd of approximately 175 people about the sisters influence in his life and the importance of programs like The Literacy Connection and The Women’s Table to the people of the city of Boston. The occasion was our 7th annual Fall Luncheon.

Representative Kevin Honan was honored with the CSJ Community Service Award - recognizing his love for and service to the Allston/Brighton community. In an especially memorable moment, Sister Maureen Doherty, Assistant President of the Sisters of St. Joseph and Sister Pat Andrews, Director of The Literacy Connection, donned top hats and serenaded Kevin with their customized version of "One Singular Sensation." Margarita Montero, a former student of The Literacy Connection spoke movingly about the impact the program had on her life.
